Next to Nothing (8 single photographs, 60x40cm each)
In the age of individualism,
architecture has been conceived as an image that affirms power and determines
social relations. The Next to Nothing series consists of abstract
representation of contemporary architecture. Almost unrecognizable fractions of
remarkable buildings articulate very simple geometric compositions. The photographs
allude to minimalism both as visual language and as a critical attitude toward
the “society of spectacle” (Guy Debord) in which we live. In short, by
stripping pretentious buildings of their symbolic representation this series
aims to question architecture as a sign of power.
