Light and Space - Holographic City Memories
Jürgen Eichler deals with three-dimensinal coloured light structures in space using photographic material. In the work, holographic elements with their spectral pure colours are combined with graphic material. In this case, the grapic shows the famous Broklyn Bridge. The holographic structures infront and behing of the graphic show the statue of Liberty, World Trade Center and other buildings. The 3D light structures move with the direction of observation. The normal colours of the graphic and the spectral colours of the holographic structures are superimposed. A unique additive and substractive colour mixing takes place which depends dynamically with the movent of the observer,
The artwork deals with the nature of light, the different colours in space and the effect on the eye and the brain. It is about the properties of seeing and question of the reality of the seen. What is the reality and what is imagination?
The holographic fantasies are memories to New York which the author visited many time with expositions at the Holocenter.
