This little girl is following a green line playfully. Her red shoes fit perfectly with the color of the stripe. She seems to be dressed for an event. The retro style of clothing makes her look like a souvenir. We are in the heart of a business district. Concrete and towers are everywhere. But she didn't care. She's playing, she is in his world, using the environment as fuel for her imagination. A bit of our inner soul is crossing the plaza.
I
work in highly urbanized environments. It's a way for me to observe our
strategies to exist in those impersonal and cold universes. Our gait,
postures, and clothing choices reveal our relationship to the modern
world and its architecture.
Large white flat areas allow me to
literally extract people from their world while maintaining this link
that structures our appearance and behavior.
I do not edit my photos. Everything is in manual mode. It is on purpose; life does not replay.
Unlike
the nature that envelops and accompanies us, these concrete
architectures leave us face-to-face with ourselves. Modern monumental
spaces are a moment of hollowness where our codes intended for the urban
crowd become fragile. These crossings of open places put us in an
unexpected solitude where we find ourselves revealed. Our public
identity is confronted with our inner identity while crossing a
monumental urban space.
