About the concept - MORGUE (obitorio)
This series presents a metaphorical sequence in which I use dead birds in different circumstances, suggesting an analogy between the death of a bird and that of a human being.
While alive, we feel pleasure and freedom, but with the misfortune of death, affective scars start to cause us mental pain and physical degradation.
It reminds me of Charles Baudelaire in his work “Flowers of Evil”
“O pain! Time makes life a carrion,
And the dark Enemy that gnaws at the roses
In the blood that we lose, it takes root and lives! "
I produce these works without the use of the camera (cameraless).
The visual compositions are made with the objects themselves (dead birds) organized directly on the scanner in such a way that the details are limited by the depth of focus reduced by the scanner.
The works are printed as fine-art with mineral pigment on 100% cotton paper Edition Etching Rag 310g.
