LONG ISLANDS # BLUE
The original photography of this work Long Islands # Blue was taken in 2009 in Japan, in Hokkaido, in a field of lupine flowers with a digital Leica offering me scope and flexibility. During the pandemic crisis and the confinement experience, I have decided to work on several creations that would bring me fresh air and a closer link to nature. Traveling back to the past and reminding me my trips to Hokkaido, while I was living in Japan, were a way to be again among trees, rivers, animals and flowers, far away from the urban organization. The lupine flowers are in theory pink-salmon. I decided to dive into a dominant blue impressionism - probably the mirror and reflection of my state of mind then - and to reach a more abstract expressionist result than a simple field of flowers. Finally my lupine flowers became islands, a vast archipelago of peninsulas. New territories, new islands and new peninsulas discovered. Like an absolute desire of fresh air.
