Statistics of the World Bank show that Vietnam has become one of the major sources of plastic waste in the world.
An estimated 3.1 million tons of plastic waste is dumped on land each year, and the amount of waste dumped into the oceans is between 0.28 and 0.73 million tons. This fact makes Vietnam one of the major sources of plastic waste in the world
The Analysis report on plastic waste pollution in Vietnam shows that plastic waste is the common type collected in field surveys, accounting for 94% in volume and 71% in weight.
Particularly, in Hanoi every day, daily activities of daily life, production and business throughout Hanoi city emit from 4,000 to 5,000 tons of waste, of which on average, about 80 tons of plastic are discharged into the environment a day nylon bag. Most of the plastic waste after being discharged will go to landfills and even be discharged into rivers.
And it is at these landfills that are the source of life for a small part of the community around the landfills.
This photo project has been carried out continuously from 2021 to the present to record the human life of animals raised in landfills.
Every day people and domestic animals go to the landfill to search for what is left to make a living.
