Ophelia was a beautiful girl from the Danish court in the Middle Ages and had a huge influence on women in European feudal society.
Ophelia's education and restraint from the patriarchal family determined that she was absolutely docile and ignorant. She was suppressed by such lessons given to suppress her youth, passion and love. Absolutely meek and poorly educated girls were not uncommon in the society of the time. Feudal morality relentlessly suppressed women's desires and they were considered family property by men. Ophelia was just one of them and Shakespeare considered her just a typical European woman in the Middle Ages.
Ophelia, a simple and beautiful girl. In Shakespeare's Hamlet, she is fragile because of love, and domesticated and ignorant because of the European feudal patriarchal system. In the end, she died beautifully because of the development of the plot.
Withering in full bloom, Ophelia, a rose that died before blooming.
What I mean is that the concept of controlling and possessing women still exists in modern times, and indeed more secret and subtle almost invisible to our eyes. When controlling and possessing women occurs in intimate relationships, it is easy for the abuser to think that it is a "correct" way to get along with the victim. In the eyes of the abuser, the victim is not a "person". She is his property. Likewise, the act of controlling and possessing in an intimate relationship can hardly be defined as a criminal act. It is difficult to detect and judge hidden crimes in intimate relationships and it is impossible to provide effective help to the victims. Over time, the victim has shown docility and obedience to the perpetrator, just like a withered rose.
From this point of view, I started taking pictures. I want to photograph her being bound and her "death".
