The starting point of my artistic reflections for my workserie 'In perpetuum: Dance - Janus' is:
In what movement do we exist in the present moment, in the here and now?
How can the will to go in a certain direction (the future) - be translated into movement?
In a globalized, totally interconnected and mobile, Janus-faced world the stocktaking of the human being. What are his longings and fears?
What offers him meaning and orientation in the acceleration?
My pictures create an imaginary dialogue to transform past and future into movement.
What moves the human being?
In my large-scale photo and video installations, I deal with the human being, his desires and the connection to his body in dance and in the liquid element.
Man flees from time, tries to grasp it, to overcome it, to let it flow, but also to change it.
I am concerned with the transition, the dynamic, always endangered balance, visually balance, visually reinforced by multiple exposures, cross-fades, shifts in the perception and transformation of time. My search is for images that make these "disquieting
realities" become tangible. Slipping, submerging and sinking correspond to the expression
of torn time, 'Riven in Time'. - I develop in the dialogue of productions and in collaboration with solo dancers, my own performances, dedicated only to the creation of my works.Thereby my moving images are
projected onto the dancers and staged in the interplay of light, space and music to a total work of art. The photo work series that result from this are implemented pictorially with a special surface technique developed by me, an oscillating depth effect
of the metallic reflecting images. In the fragmentation I invent new forms, seamless transitions between solid and flowing materiality. Visuals of reanimated still images and slow motion interact with my artistic partners to create performative installations. Music and images merge into an immersive, kaleidoscopic visual experience.
