Impronta 04

Impronte is a series to which Ennio Vicario has dedicated himself for decades, until 2023.  The works are produced from the matrices of instant photos (Polaroids) that the author, with chemical and mechanical processes of his own invention and experimentation, removed from the original support and transferred onto white paper supports. In the transfer (a sort of metaphor for the passage from one existential condition to another) something is lost, something is generated, something is altered or changed. Something, too, is preserved and persists. Once dried, the paper supports with the transferred photographic emulsions become the matrices (the originals), which the author reproduced photographically and finally printed.
