IGNARI TOTIUS CORPORIS
Digital photography, 2.7 meters satin pvc inflatable sculpture.
Photography and related sculpture are part of the "IGNARI TOTIUS CORPORIS" project which brings together various works developed with various languages: photography, drawing, 3D modeling and printing, static and interactive sculpture with various materials, all collected in a book produced in 30 copies curated by Luca Panaro at Chippendale Studio, Milano.
The project develops the theme of the body and its unconscious memories, describing a journey into its dark depths. The proliferation of forms begins with the photograph of a scar on the author's back, a trace of an operation suffered in early childhood, which becomes a symbol of the part of oneself that we cannot see or know and yet which determines and guides us. To bring it back to light, that first trace on the flesh is transformed into a figure, a sign, a logo and produces new images and objects, in a potentially infinite game of concatenations.
From the initial photograph of the scar, a zoo of biomorphic figures traced on tracing paper was first produced, then a three-dimensional digital elaboration of one of these forms, from which three sculptures have been produced in succession: a 15 cm resin one with DLP printing in photopolymers, one inflatable in satin PVC approximately 2.7 meters long (in the photo) and one in plush with wadding approximately 70 cm long. From the initial photograph, an interactive sculpture was also produced with photographic printing on wood, nails and rubber bands, an interactive sculpture with sea stones, a heraldic coat of arms based on an original model from the 1600s, 12 zodiac cards with new constellations, a UV ink stamp, a pillow.
In 2022 the project was exhibited at Chippendale Studio in Milan, at the CraGallery gallery in Turin, at Centrale Festivale, Fano (PU), at Zines in Palermo.
