The work intends to express the feeling of my blackness without punctuation. It uses the body as a tool that always remembers, hence the subject keeps undressing and dressing so as to exemplify the in-existence of time and space in blackness. The work tries to unravel the unfiltered, bitter and gruesome truth blackness; the trauma of the past that is characterised by extreme violence, alienation and dishonour, and how that still permeates the present so much that the two become indistinguishable. It was done to accentuate pure emotion and impulse. The rapid movement in the images is to give the images an illusion of a tussle between ghosts and angels. The fact that the outfits are either pure white, then completely black and then a combination of the two colours alludes to the fact that there is no vocabulary to express the state of blackness.
