Cyanotype is one of the oldest photographic techniques.
It was short lived due to its blue color, only to be used under the name of "blueprint" in architecture.
"Strata" is a participatory cyanotype project in collaboration with the Carmine neighbourhood in Brescia.
The block, notorious for its rough past, hosts now more than 10 different ethnicities and is being subject to a process of urban renewal.
The artist asked citizens to create cyanotypes overlaying their own portrait onto maps of the neighbourhood.
Cyanotype lives again, bridging portrait photography and urban planning thanks to a community effort.
More than 100 people took part to the performance, creating a real time exhibition.
"Strata" was mentioned at Fotografia Europea 2018, was finalist at Premio Francesco Fabbri 2018, Premio Combat Prize 2019, Biennale di Bozzolo 2019 and exhibited at MVSA, Sondrio.
