Abstract photography: "Painting" with photos
Like my paintings, my photographic works are created in layers
and in a working process; I often work in thematic series.
My working method is based on a playful, experimental
approach. Macros, i.e. detailed images, serve me as a means to an end: by
technically overlaying two or more photos, I visually "merge" them
into a new, now seemingly abstract photographic work of art, which is
tantamount to an act of creation.
The possibilities of processing photographs on the
computer set limits to my own imagination of new image constructions.
Photographs are never cut up and put together as a collage. Everything I do is
based on my own imagination: the artistic eye in the selection of the right
image section and the composition in the combination and superimposition of two
photographs.
In this way, I create a new, unique work from two
"familiar old things", whose abstract composition is characterized in
particular by special colours, lines and the play of light and shadow.
The unusual mix of overlapping surfaces challenges not
only the artist's eye, but also that of the viewer, who embarks on a search for
familiar patterns.
These photos almost look like an abstract painting. Thus
the circle closes: "painting" (designing) with photography.
Layering two of my Macros and digital technique made it possible to create this beautiful picture called NATURE.
I wanted to create the impression of fast movement through blurring.
