We are in Prato, the place in Europe with the highest concentration of Chinese inhabitants in relation to the rest of the population, since the nineties there has been a growing swarm of migrants, up to the world crisis that leaves the Chinese dominion over the city. The thought of Presutti is placed in this Dickian perspective, demonstrating that he wants to consolidate that semantic coherence that brings him closer to the strings of science fiction, and is far from any presumption of modernist objectivity. Susan Sontag wrote "what is separated in reality, images join it", and this is the experiment repeated by Presutti, placing us differently in front of the real, the neuroses and the masked needs of contemporary man, the non-places of consumption and the fears of the different that is, even before, within us. Prato is here but elsewhere. Is this ability to "not see", like not remembering, an archetype of contemporary living?
