Boxed In
The old overused adage of “thinking outside of the box” is often cited as a motivational phrase, or even as an instruction, in many different situations. The recipient must but wonder: whose box? Mine or the one of the person uttering the sentence, or the box of other people tasked with the same “thinking exercise”? The counterproductive effect is to feel “boxed in” inyour creative space, right from the beginning.
How about «Imagine ...» instead?
