BlackHoleSun is a mix of digital and analog technologies. Its photographed digitally. Several thousands of photos where stacked and stitched together to create a very high resolution image. Afterwards the digital photo is split up again and re-photographed with a hundred years old camera in collodion wetplate technology. The work is about editions and limitations in photography, uniqueness and duration of information. A good mix of digital and analog advantages.
The works consists of two twin images which are similar but still not the same each size is 64x115cm. Each consists of 40 4x5" wetplate photographs that form a bigger picture. The artefacts make these photos so special. The photo itself is formed by pure silver dust in a thin collodoin layer on the aluminium plates.
Unfortunately I cannot upload more photos about this work. It is very special and as I guess one of its kind in the world.
Please consider that one of the two frames has a small crack on the side. The crac occured by monting the back plate to the frame.
