3.10 l 013 (Naufragio a Lampedusa)
An intensely symbolic image donates itself to a limpid light, allowing to observe the details of a scene dominated by an immense silence looming over protagonists and objects.
3.10 l 013 (Naufragio a Lampedusa) is composed of a complete image next to four details intended to enhance the sense of the picture and to scan its rythm that, thanks to almost imperceptible movements, evokes passing of time.
This work is a research on contemporaneity, where the reference to the ineluctabile phenomenon of migrations, as well as of travel itself, are examined through cultural and symbolic references (waiting, leaving, separation, death…).
Thus, it shapes a rigourous structure where each element finds its space in a steady and stable way, defining a formal and apparent order in which every decision is proctastinated indefinitely. In this sort of time mirror the protagonists revive the misfortunes of yesterday’s migrants exactly as today’s migrants do.
3.10 l 013 (Naufragio a Lampedusa) wants to be a homage to the 368 victims of the Shipwreck occured in Lampedusa on the 3rd of October 2013 and to all those who have lost their lives in the tireless search for a better place to live.
