Considered by many to be my most intuitive and intimate works, these performative-sculptures are like drawings made in the air that slowly change into sculptures. They are a set of happenings performed in public, in which a white thread is pulled across the room. Repeatedly, slowly, methodically. They bring to the public arena the delicate and intimate creative process applied in the construction of these light, non-solid objects. Inevitably, what happens inside me, the slow and focused movements of my body as a work tool, ends up being the cornerstone for the emergence of a new form. A deeply private act that becomes public.
Systemic Observations presents a performative sculpture created in front of the public where an organic concoon is created inside a glass and stainless steel container. The performance presents the artist, sculpting with threads around herself, something that resembles a complex spider web, within a very contained and limited space. Slowly, the artist, the web of threads and the glass box become one living object.
