“Blue” The work expresses how today's young generation is bound by too many things
in reality, unable to truly express their thoughts and desires. The real constraint is the
mental one. I think the color blue is a very melancholy color. So I covered my entire
body in blue paint. At the beginning of this artistic performance, I asked myself how to
express the concept of constraint. Then I thought of using a rope to represent mental
constriction. I then prepared some wool threads by braiding them in my hair. These
threads represent thoughts, woven throughout my body. The woolen threads were
connected to my hair and my body, binding me and binding my spirit, preventing me
from being truly free. This was meant to express a feeling of constriction. The bubble
machine, the radio and other objects instead represented the constraints of childhood.
I believe that mental compulsion is the most important of all forms of compulsion. In
life there are too many constraints and too many situations in which human beings
find themselves helpless: family constraints, emotional constraints, all of these
concern the present, while mental constraints concern the future.
