Zygo Gancho refers to a zygote (cactus flower} and "gancho" a tango dance step. Thus tango shoes grace my image of a twisting, turning flower; part of my series of oil pastel works of disintegrating flowers with anthropomorphic references, drawn or painted the size of human beings. I’m fascinated by flowers when they drop, decompose, return to the earth; perhaps a contemplation of human mortality.
