In the realm of outdoor advertising, vinyl application has reigned supreme for decades, thanks to its production simplicity and cost-effectiveness. It's been a grand symbiosis of human, blade, and adhesive surface. But that era has come to an end. A simpler, cheaper method has eclipsed this archaic technology.
Economical self-adhesive materials, solvent wide-format printing, and automation have taken the center stage, eliminating the intricate and costly manual labor of humans. This leaves them with an ever-increasing array of possibilities for consumption. The potential for agitation has been streamlined. Design is no longer constrained by technology. Total freedom has arrived, discarding the necessity to adhere to rules and diving into the abyss. That's the path to take. It's all reminiscent of high-context art – evolution, self-destruction, and simplification.
Continuing the concept of consumer art, I imbue vinyl applique with a fresh artistic dimension, paying homage to its history. Utilizing professional materials designed for outdoor advertising, I create works that logically develop and align with the ideas of consumer art and its expressive means.
