The work focuses on words and their importance. The content is intentionally sketched out, the letters run one after one another: sentences, words, senses are nothing but decorations on canvas, arpeggios on a music sheet.
They form verses written by Leopardi, names of flowers, words of love and lyrics of songs, in no particular order.
They enclose a deep urge to be written, underlining their own positive value capable of imbuing peace: the right words are able to summon the right emotions, and even influence our own well-being.
The entanglement of the drafted words together with the use of black on a brown background, reminiscing of ancients writings, conveys a sense of mystery.
The letters gather to form words, they hurtle through the canvas to show off and tell about themselves, vain and sometimes lavish, and it is the capital ones to explain and build the desire of making a work of art out of the canvas.
They hug each other exploring the aesthetic of signs, they look for balance in their proximity, between the thickness of the stroke and the dots, guided by the writer’s greed.
