My
art explores the overarching theme of an individual: a soul within
herself, within society, within the world.
The
figure is the center of interest in my paintings, surrounded by
abstract background or the elusive world. It can be a figure of a
person or a demon – the image of a human being embodying
emotions and thoughts (as in Vrubel). With this research I am
gradually assembling a general image of my Contemporary.
I
work with language of expressive poses, bright colors, the
combination of textures. I use mixed media and various techniques. I
believe that each material has its own dramatic intonation which I
use as an abstract component of my work. This abstraction provides
the space for individual associations. This is what completes my
artistic statement and makes the dialogue with the beholder genuine.
"Woman
in a shawl"
The
tense figure is made in a compound mixed media of alcohol ink, oil,
acrylic, synthetic paper and watercolor paper with copper acrylic
contour. The traditional plot connects this painting throughout the
whole history of art. The image of the tense female figure, lying in
draperies, who in the 19th century gained the right to look at the
viewer without losing herself. She will never give up that right, and
will peer into us, telling us something special about herself and her
time.
