Winter tree branches, despite their bareness, symbolize resilience and endurance. They survive harsh weather conditions and eventually bloom again in the spring and are a metaphor for human resilience in the face of adversity and challenge. When I paint the long morning light hitting the tangled canopy it reinforces this idea by symbolizing the dynamic interplay between dark and light, death and life, or hope and despair.
