..Cutouts" is a series of paintings started in 2020, presenting actually still lifes. The compositions of torn-out cards of colorful children's blocks that I observed appeared to me as a painterly challenge. I was intrigued by the color combinations that are not assigned to anything alse, the extraordinary simplicity and the form of their compositions, as well as humor and lighteness encountered. Cutouts are kind of return to the aforementioned still lifes, to the source. They were created against the ubiquitous atmosphere of depression caused by Covid19.
