Réfléchissons-y… ( Let’s think about it…)
White Gold, Matrice (White Gold, Matrix)
In a world where the Earth can become sterile, the need to envision new processes for the restoration of life is crucial.
The artwork evokes both culture and the reserve of a source of life, a source of sustenance.
The assemblies of plates and small blocks onto which fine filaments are grafted represent food reservoirs, nourishment kits enabling the cultivation of microorganisms, similar to Mycelium cultivation.
The artwork is composed of recycled paper pulp, Kozo fibers, and pins.
The Kozo fiber symbolizes Life, the recycled paper pulp represents the matrices and the pins embody human action.
The use of paper material allows me to work on the perception of the density of the artwork but also to create metaphors around the regenerative power of Life. The matrices, appear to be made of concrete, suggesting to the observer a dense and inert matrix. And the Kozo fiber in the form of fine filaments evokes nourishment, growth, and the fragility of Life.
The artwork White Gold, Matrix, when reproduced in large numbers, becomes the representation of a process for producing sources of sustenance.
