In this piece, I explore the delicate interplay between visibility and concealment, capturing the transient beauty of the female form enveloped in light-draped fabric. Annika is portrayed in a moment of quiet introspection, her gaze steady and contemplative. The soft folds of the fabric partially conceal and reveal her form, creating a tension between what is shown and what remains hidden. The veil symbolises both protection and vulnerability, inviting viewers to ponder the layers of identity and emotion that lie beneath the surface. The dark hazy rendering of her features complements the flowing lines of the fabric, giving the effect of being bathed in light. Through this work, I aim to honour the inherent strength and spirit of women, celebrating their grace and resilience.
