Faced with the cruel scenario of
continuing environmental destruction, we cannot be paralyzed or be silent. We
need to act together. I hope that my claim reaches and mobilize more people in
favor of the environment! In the Pantanal alone, from January to October, an
area larger than four million hectares was devastated. The main reason was
human negligence. And in the Amazon? And in the world? We need to pay attention
to the climate and the damage caused over decades of exploration. The pandemic is
a sign of our misuse of the planet. If Gaston Bachelard, in “The Poetics of
Space”, mentions space as "an instrument of analysis for our soul"
(2005, p. 20). What do we do with the remains of nature? Our planet is being
destroyed. When will this destruction end?
This work is a
sequence of “Spirits of Forests” with a similar process, but not so long.
Initially, I painted a forest on fire. In a second moment, I used the brush
strokes to put out the fire, transforming the paint into the water. But here, transparency
allows you to view the initial work.
Finally, I painted the “spirit of
Mother Nature” asking for help and discernment. At this moment, I make what was
visible invisible. I express my feelings, the aura of the meaning of life. This
spirit shows us that we are one: plant, people, water, land.
Leaves no longer exist, and animals
died. But their nature flies into the invisible leaves. They are skin, ribs,
scales, feathers, hair... We all are one! We are the boy with black, white, brown
skin... It is exttemely urgent to take care of the planet and life. Man must
connect with nature, realize its subtleties and its immense healing potential!
