The Shroud of Turin, Veronica’s veil and the image of Edessa are images of the face of Jesus believed to have been formed through miraculous circumstances.
This image of the face of Jesus was from a secret altar disguised as a cabinet. For more than a century, it was hidden from visitors of the home where it came from. I appropriated the image and used it for an altar adopting capiz shell, a craft material used in making doors and windows. The altar door in this case is not meant to veil the face of Jesus, but to open it up to members of the home and to its visitors as well.
