UNDERWATER LANDSCAPES Underwater Landscapes is a recent work in which I address the concept of depth as a path of discovery. Making an allegory of the journey of awakening consciousness, from darkness to light or making the unconscious conscious in our unfathomable seabed. These surreal and dreamlike landscapes, inspired by Haeckel's marine illustrations, speak of the mystery that exists in that dark place of our psyche. As Jung would say, “Until the unconscious becomes conscious, the subconscious will continue to direct your life.” There in that unconscious is a treasure waiting to be discovered by ourselves, usually constrained by personal judgments and learned belief systems. On the other hand, it also talks about those dark and devastating moments in the human experience such as grief and irreparable losses. As in those uncontainable voids there is also the possibility of finding essence in ourselves from acceptance and unconditional gratitude. Grief is often an opportunity to rethink your vision of life and strengthen your existential commitments if you allow yourself to live the process and transform that pain into love.As Jung also says: “Life cannot be happy without a little darkness.”In these contrasts we can discover ourselves. In those depths that we do not know and that terrify us is the magic, the strength and the light that we carry inside.
As I express before my paintings are difficult to appreciate in photos because of the textures, so I share with you will some detail videos.
