In this composition I attempted to combine watercolor effect with traditional brush painting in order to capture the gloss and reflections created after a heavy downpour. When I set out to paint this scene I was blessed with great weather, however shortly after beginning, I heavy shower of rain completely changed the scene - the stone facade of the building and the ground beneath began to glisten after the rain. I felt compelled to capture this scene. I completed the sky in classic brushwork a used thinned oil paints to complete the buildings and ground, in order to portray the rain on the stone.
