The submitted work is a portrait of Nancy Cunard (1896-1965). She lived during the 1920s in Paris and profiled there as a very political and feminist acting person in the circles of intellectuals and artists. Her partnership with an Afro-American jazz pianist gave her not only threatenig letters from the Parisian society, but also a legal notice from her mother living in England.
