Traditions are passed down from generation to generation. Mexicans learn early on about the Day of the Dead as children, through visits to the cemetery, dressed up as catrinas (wealthy skeleton women popularized by prints from José Guadalupe Posada) to eating sugar skulls with their names often written on them. They learn not to fear death but to remember those that have passed on
