A place is the sum of the things we encounter. People, objects, conversations, emotions and memories. I take these elements out of the original space, isolate them, simplify them, and then re-embed them in a painterly reality. This allows me to create new stories that take on entirely new meanings. The place becomes an opportunity to redefine what has been encountered.
