As I was traveling to the Mississippi Delta to go to the Grammy museum, I passed by a lone standing structure that was the only building in this large empty field. I found out that it was once a big beautiful home of a plantation owner. While I was standing and observing the structure, I noticed how all of the weeds were overgrown. The structure was very dilapidated, but I could imagine the beauty of it in its hay day, the life that used to be there, but then I realized that it was fleeting. The only words that came to my mouth was,” the thrill is gone.” as with the structure, so are many things and experiences in this life, and so this building is a reminder that things come and go and what was once beautiful one day will be unavoidably changed.
