The three ages(paeonies) takes a part of my series of paintings with the theme of red color, composition and combination solving, the structure in the sense of physical three dimensionality of painting, the flow of time and the play of light in sense of its angle of impact and then the different angles of view of the spectator. Another base line are flowers, because the first painting of the series was meant to bring the female element to a male household and flowers are a hobby of one of the tenants.
The three white paeonies represent the three stages of woman's life, first the shy, not opened jet adolescence, second the gorgeous powerful fully bloomed of adulthood, and then third, the withering aged and slowly dying flower. The sense of passing time is reinforced through the 3D structure of the painting. As the light falls on the relief in different angles, the "drawing" on the paeonies' petals change. Similar change happens when a person moves in front of the painting. Despite all the changes mentioned, the painting remains a picture of a green background, a big white field and three little red dots.
