Inspired by Rembrandt van Rijn’s masterpiece “ Christ In The Storm On The Sea Of Galilee, this artwork “ The Storm In The Sea “ shows a group of men and women caught in the midst of a turbulent sea, as a giant wave rips off the sail of the boat and thus overturning it.
About to be capsized by the giant sea wave the occupants of the boat are frantically trying to save their lives while those who have already fallen to the sea, are looking up to God in the sky, praying and asking for mercy. A divine white light, representing God is falling on the helpless people showing mercy and hope as an imminent disaster is waiting to strike them.
The acrylic painting is finished in three different art styles – Romanticism, Impressionism and Baroque all blended harmoniously in a single artwork.
