This painting records the tranquil and wonderful moment that describes the author's family environment and childhood memories. The girl is surrounded by flowers, and she is one of them growing in a greenhouse. The greenhouse is like an isolated petri dish which raises this carefree girl.
In an almost isolated world, she can only taste the fear of loneliness and claustrophobia alone. She owns other masks to pretend herself at the same time. She’d like to talk to her only friend, the parrot, but it can only repeat as well as imitate her words so that she could only talk to her own echo in the garden.
The parallel lines of the floor tiles are interlaced. Instead of the one-point perspective to express the space, the author presents another plane in a patterned way for interpretation. Those flowers are painted in a semi-planar way to depict a soft and romantic atmosphere and, meanwhile, to suggest that this illusory space is unreal.
