The Poetry on Silk. The Poetry on Silk is the unique collection of batik artworks crafted by Kristina Rasskazova. Each piece tells the story. Each artwork has a symbolism behind. I believe art has the power to heal, inspire, provoke and challenge. The mission of the project is to rise awareness about how art is a catalyst for positive change and enhances the well-being of individuals, society and the environment through artworks. I will promote and share my artworks all around the World to heal and inspire people. (C) Kristina RasskazovaThe Golden Cockerel or Lola. September 2022 The best time of my childhood was the summertime in the country house of my grandparents. It was a small traditional russian wooden house built by my grandfather. It was decorated with carpets, patchwork quilts and macramé made by my granny. It was far from the city surrounded by a pine forest. There was an apple garden in front of the house and a chicken coop behind.I still remember the fresh air of the early morning, bright colours and hypnotic geometrical forms of patchwork, the crowing of a rooster, the taste of hand made gingerbread, the warm hands of my grandmother... These memories support me during the whole life. The main character of artwork is the Golden Cockerel called Lola.Rooster symbolizes vigilance, courage, foresight, reliability. The messenger of the dawn is a symbol of the Sun and spiritual rebirth. In the Middle Ages roosters were installed on the spires of houses and churches as a symbol of readiness to meet the morning dawn. I drew a Rooster as it was depicted on the traditional gingerbread boards that I use to see in my grandparents house.I used patchwork quilt design to express the unique sensation of security, love and warmth of the family place. In my culture as in many different cultures patchwork quilt symbolizes family, resourcefulness, the connection between the past and present, creativity, and heritage.
