This work is inspired by the statues of the Dublin Memorial dedicated to the Great Famine that took place in Ireland from 1846 to 1849.
The title " The fields of Athenry " refers to a famous folk song commemorating the Great Famine that caused the deaths of a million people and large immigration to the United States and Canada.
I created this work to remember all of those to whom life has given only the worst, who have disappeared and who today can live again in the memory and in the hearts of their descendants.
