The work is a mixed media painting. I used saw dust for the sculptural relief before applying colors for aesthetic. The title of the painting THE THE CRYING DANCERS mirrors on the inhumane treatment of the government Nigeria at that time on the masses. The military junta was planning to remain in office by transforming from military to civilian government. Many oppositions where murdered. The painting was similar to the song of the afro beat Fela anikulapo kuti which he called suffering and smiling. The masses where held in bondage of poverty and misery. And no one dare to Express there feelings for fear of been killed. So people kept "suffering and smiling"
