The Cookout is a peephole into the world of the black community. It displays one of the most iconic events in the black community, which is the backyard cookout. The inspiration behind The Cookout was that I believe that the lack of understanding and relatability amongst cultures, is the cause for majority of the conflict that develops between groups. Thus the objective of The Cookout is to accurately illustrate a portion of black culture that people from different cultures can also resonate with.
