This artwork shows a reinterpretation of the wellknown painting of Sandro Boticelli. Like Botticelli the composition actually shows the
goddess of love and beauty arriving on land, born of the sea spray. But besides of many other details apparently the mussel shell was changed and the Venus is suspended on the head of a large octopus with hundreds of suction cups. As shown in many classical statues for Venus’ modest pose, she covers her nakedness with her hands and long hairs. But the fact of pure nakedness is clearly to be seen and like the arms of a giant octopus lust and desire spread out into the surrounding.
