TEXTURE SIGNATURES is part of an art project analysing the concept of trace and the function of ‘tracing’ by art, especially modern art. The sign of the subject remains in time and overlaps infinitely: every one of our social actions has the purpose of leaving a trace. And art is part of this existential moment. However, this work implies effort, even if, in the mechanism of the economy, it can turn into the repetition of a brand or trademark. The history of art is thus the layering of the existential traces of human subjects: but is art limited to this or does it tell something more? In this way, the TEXTURE SIGNATURES project brings together fatigue, the need to leave some mark, the stratification and confusion of traces, and the capitalist instrumentalisation that precisely in the simplicity of the trace seeks to create economic leverage.
