Artwork from my Sicilian collection, inspired by traditional Sicilian majolica tiles. Sicily is a brilliant mix of old & new, traditional and unexpected, therefore I have tried to revive the traditional majolica patterns and add a new element – gold to stress the treasures of this beautiful land. The tiles are modelled with silicone while the golden beach was created by using 24k gold leaves. I am proud to be Sicilian, even though the land is associated and recognized as a “Mafia territory”.
