The Japanese folktale Tanabata is celebrated on the 7th day of the 7th Luna month of each year. As the story is told two celestial beings Vega and Altair fall deeply in love, leaving the world behind and neglecting their duties. As punishment Vega’s father banishes them to opposite sides of the milky way, only to be united once a year.
Today romantic love has limitless expressions. Healthy relationships flourish with a work life balance and when we are fully present with the other. Tanabata’s painting depicts Altair and Vega united amongst the stars, in an infinite and timeless space, one precious moment becoming a lifetime.
