LINES ON MY PAINTINGS
Paintings are like broken pieces of memories from different periods. In my latest series of paintings, I have integrated the idea of memories in it. As time passes by, some memories are partly lost (interpreted as transparent lines on my painting). New memories smooth over the old ones like a veil (translated as added lines on my painting).
Olivier Masmonteil expresses these in his series “La mémoire de la peinture”. But I also see real memories interacting with the imaginary ones. Old photos can barely resist the discolouration process and living memories appear as some broken mosaics, or inconsistent stained glass.
LOSING CONTROL - A CONFLICTING ENVIRONMENT
Opposites are fascinating. The contrasts between hot and cold, snow and rain are fighting for their existence against each other. The ravens are learning to co-exist with the choking smoke. Smoke in the air mirrors the movements of the clouds. Are there two ravens or one raven with two contradicting mindsets?
This painting is painted one both sides, with base colours of the front side being revealed from the line windows of the back side and vice versa. Other lines are transparent on both sides. Environment changes in different time space, realms intertwined with one another. What I am searching for perhaps... is the order from chaos.
