Pouring the resin onto horizontal surfaces, my process works in continuum with abstract expressionist 'action painting'; paying homage to this way of working yet in a more contemporary medium. Manipulating this toxic resin, I am concerned with the balance of decision making and chance, aiming to capture what Wolfgang Tillmans describes as a visual ‘charge’ through this abstraction.
