Storie di fiori is part of the series Ombre di sogno, a collection of portraits depicting the person’s lineaments covered by delicate flowers. The idea of this representation intends to narrate the intricate duplicity of what we can see and what we can’t. The superficial and the inside. The public might grasp the lineaments of the face, but it will remain covered and unseen, while in the portrait, the painted person can see us through the brunches and flowers.
The title Ombre di sogno, literally Dream’s shadows, comes from the idea that the depicted flowers create a sort of shadow on the face of the person, which is a visual metaphor of the dualistic nature of the human being: dark (shadow) and clear (flowers).
