State of danger (2020-) is a series related to the problem of global extinction
The elements of animal coloration are used as motifs in abstract paintings. Each piece has a separate subtitle that refers to a specific, endangered species – taken from Red List of Threatened Species These, often decorative, patterns and structures have been adapted by humans and are part of culture. The coloration, which was originally intended to act as a protection from predators, in effect becomes a source of danger.
Statement
My aim is to create imaginary worlds as a result of following the cyclical nature of processes. I am addressing two dimensions: nature and culture, which circulate in a closed circuit. This type of recycling is the foundation of my research.
I experiment with matter, making ephemeral models that have their source in nature. By subjecting it to processes such as freezing, melting, tetanizing, irradiation, and many others, I transform the captured experience on canvas.I create paintings, site specific forms and projections. I also work with artists from various fields (e.g. during Convergence - Fama Festival) and pro-ecological companies (e.g. Tarpex, Wtórplast), trying to adequately interpret the changing reality in response to a specific situation or place, as part of my interests. It’s at least a direction, a plan for my further exploration.
